सदनलाल सांवलदास खन्ना महिला महाविद्यालय, प्रयागराज के इतिहास परिषद (प्राचीन एवं मध्यकालीन इतिहास) द्वारा "एपिडेमिक्स एंड पैंडेमिक्स  हिस्ट्री एंड हिस्टोरिकल अनालसिस " विषय पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय बेबिनार का आयोजन किया गया।

इस अवसर पर पहले दिन बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय के इतिहास विभाग के प्रोफेसर अजय   प्रताप ने प्रागैतिहासिक काल से महामारी का प्रकृति और पारिस्थितिकी से गहरे संबंध का ऐतिहासिक परिप्रेक्ष्य में विश्लेषण किया तो भीमराव अंबेडकर विश्विद्यालय दिल्ली के प्रो वाईस  चांसलर और इतिहासविद प्रोफेसर सलील मिश्रा ने कोविड 19 से उत्पन्न हालात और नीति नियामकों द्वारा किये जाने वाले उपायों का सामाजिक परिप्रेक्ष्य में विश्लेषण किया। बेबिनार के दूसरे दिन बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय के इतिहास विभाग के  विभागाध्यक्ष और भारत चीन संबंधों के विशेषज्ञ प्रोफेसर केशव मिश्र ने वैश्वीकरण की दृष्टि से कोविड 19 के कारण एशिया में उभरते नए परिदृश्य का ऐतिहासिक परिप्रेक्ष्य में विश्लेषण किया। दूसरे वक्ता मगध विश्वविद्यालय के इतिहास विभाग के प्रोफेसर नृपेंद्र श्रीवास्तव ने कोविड 19 और अतीत के महामारियों के बीच समानता, असमानता तथा परिस्थितियों का ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिकोण से मूल्यांकन किया। 

इस बेबिनार  में  उत्तर प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु, केरल, कर्नाटक, आंध्रप्रदेश, गोआ, पांडुचेरी, असम, राजस्थान, महाराष्ट्र, दिल्ली, हरियाणा, पश्चिम बंगाल, विहार, उड़ीसा सहित पच्चीस राज्यों के प्रतिभागियों ने ऑनलाइन प्रतिभागिता किया । दोनों दिन व्याख्यान के अंत में प्रश्नोत्तर सत्र का भी आयोजन हुआ, जिसे वेबिनार की सचिव डॉ प्रियंका गुप्ता ने आयोजित किया।  अतिथियों का स्वागत प्राचार्या प्रोफेसर लालिमा सिंह तथा वेबिनार की थीम संयोजक डॉ शिवशंकर श्रीवास्तव ने प्रस्तुत किया। संचालन संयोजक डॉ निशी सेठ एवं सचिव डॉ विनीता मिश्रा ने किया। धन्यवाद ज्ञापन डॉ शिवशंकर श्रीवास्तव ने दिया। इतिहास परिषद के  सदस्य डॉ मीनू अग्रवाल तथा डॉ ऋतु जायसवाल का वेबिनार के सफल आयोजन में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा।

राष्ट्रीय वेबिनार ’’महफिले अफसाना’’ का आयोजन।

एस.एस. खन्ना महिला महाविद्यालय में उर्दू विभाग द्वारा एक दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन दिनांक 11.06.2020 को किया गया।  जिसमें देश से ही नहीं बल्कि विदेश से भी लोगों ने प्रतिभागिता की।  वेबिनार में तीन साहित्यकारो डॉ. सादिका नवाब सहर, डॉ. सरवत खान एवं निशा जैदी ने अपनी कहानियों के माध्यम से वर्तमान परिवेश की सामाजिक परिस्थितियों को उजागर किया।  ’’फनकार’’ कहानी के माध्यम से मजदूरो की वर्तमान समस्याओं ’’मीटर गिर गया’’ को टैक्सी ड्राइवरों की समस्याओं और ’बायॅफ्रेंड’ के माध्यम से मजदूरो के पलायन की समस्याओं को प्रस्तुत किया गया।  प्रख्यात साहित्यकार मुर्शरफ आलम ज़ौकी ने अपने आलोचनात्मक वक्तव्य में कहा की आज प्रस्तुत की गयी तीनों कहानियाँ मौजूदा हालात और माहौल का अहाता करती है।  साथ ही ये भी कहा कि करोना में भी ज़िन्दगी है।  यानी ज़िन्दगी का सफर खत्म नहीं होता।   वेबिनार के आरम्भ में प्राचार्या प्रो. लालिमा सिंह ने वक्ताओं का स्वागत किया।  समन्वयक डॉ. आरिफा बेगम ने संचालन एवं डॉ. ताहिरा परवीन ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया।

Inaugural ceremony

A two day national workshop on “Lifestyle Diseases and Health” was organized by the National Academy of Sciences, India and S S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College on 15th and 16th October 2019. Inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of lamps by the honorable guests Dr. R.N. Mishra, Ophthalmologist, Sri A.K. Srivastava Deputy executive secretary, NASI, Prof. U.C. Srivastava, National Coordinator, Science Communication Programme, NASI and Dr. Asha Seth, Chairperson Governing body, SSKGDC.

A melodious Ganesh Vandana was presented by the college choir. Principal Professor Lalima Singh welcomed the renowned guests. Sri S.K. Srivastava briefed valuable information about various activities of NASI and highlighted the efforts that are being made for empowerment of women scientist. Prof. U.C. Srivastava stressed on the precautions that should be adopted to save the human beings from lifestyle diseases. He also talked about the relevance of Gandhian nutrition in present scenario. Dr. R.N. Mishra said that there is a close connection between the human mind and health. Disturbed mind is the cause of disturbance in immune system. Therefore, by acquiring the virtues like kindness, appreciation, gratefulness and by having faith in the power of Almighty we can give strength to our immune system. Dr. Asha Seth added in her presidential address that in modern society the lack of imaginative and critical thinking is the cause of degraded health of the people. Respectable guests were felicitated in the end. Dr. Shubhra Malviya proposed vote of thanks. Dignitaries like Dr. R.P. Singh, Hon'ble justice Sri Arun Tandon, Dr. R.K. Tandon Sri Dilip Mehrotra teachers from other colleges and faculty members and students graced the occasion.

Valedictory session

Chief– Guest Professor Satya Deo, GS (NASI (HQ) graced the occasion. Valedictory session began with Saraswati Vandana “Jai Maa Saraswati”. Sri A.K. Srivastava, Deputy Executive Secretary, NASI welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries present at the occasion. Chairperson of the governing body Dr. Asha Seth, Principal of the college Professor Lalima Singh, Prof. U.C. Srivastava and Dr. Neeraj Kumar – Executive Secretary (NASI) graced the dais. Chairman of the college, Justice Arun Tandon honored the occasion with his presence. Convener Dr. Sippy Singh presented the report on the national workshop. Chief – Guest Professor Satya Deo in his address stressed upon the importance of basic knowledge about our body is critical for keeping in god health. Dr. Neeraj in his address highlighted the importance of cultivating scientific temperament among students and academicians alike. He stressed upon sound lifestyle for sound health. Principal of the college Professor Lalima Singh felicitated the chief guest with shawl and memento. The valedictory session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Santosh Shukla. Faculty members of the college, participants and students actively participated in the workshop.
